The cables come coiled, not folded, to reduce kinks and the length measurement excludes the end connectors so that you can maximise the usable length of your patches. it works fine and nicely made

Patch cable.

The mono patch cable takes the signal from one sized mono male jack plug, to another mono jack plug of another size. You can't see the signal, it's sheathed in a small black flexible plastic hose, but it is there.. I think. It is a short cable, as such it will only connect to devices that are close together. As far as cables go, it is a cable capable of doing what cables do well.
